DHL Global Forwarding, the freight specialist arm of DHL Group, is proud to announce a significant step in its sustainability journey with the introduction of Electric Vehicle (EV) fleet in Bangkok, Thailand. These initial vehicles will cover a monthly distance exceeding 28,000 kilometers in operation and deliver approximately 1,000 tons of shipments to our customers.
With the new deployment of EV fleet, DHL Global Forwarding Thailand is set to eliminate 85,000 kilograms of CO2 emissions yearly, equivalent to 27 return flights from Bangkok to London for one traveler. The new EV offers rapid charging capabilities, allowing a speedy recharge in slightly more than an hour. A fully charged electric van can travel up to 200 kilometers and accommodate a load of up to 800 kilograms, while electric trucks can cover a distance of up to 350 kilometers with a maximum load of 5,000 kilograms. Standard safety features include an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), remote control central lock, sensor alarm, and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to ensure the safety of drivers.

The introduction of the EV fleet in Bangkok represents just one facet of the company’s broader GoGreen initiatives. Another noteworthy example is DHL Global Forwarding’s longstanding practice of aiding customers in evaluating their carbon emissions through an integrated online platform, MyDHLi. MyDHLi has provided customers with insetting and offsetting options to help reduce the carbon footprint associated with customers’ transportation activities.
As a significant step toward achieving its ambitious sustainability objectives, DHL is making substantial investments in cleaner and more eco-friendly operations on a global scale. The DHL Group is committed to investing EUR 7 billion by 2030 in environmentally friendly initiatives, aiming to reduce emissions to less than 29 million tons in alignment with the Science-Based Targets Initiative.
Electrifying the vehicle fleets in Bangkok represents just one aspect of a larger strategy, marking the commencement of electrifying 60% of last-mile delivery vehicles, alongside efforts to enhance the utilization of sustainable fuels in air and ocean freight and implement green initiatives across its worldwide network.

การริเริ่มใช้รถ EV ในกรุงเทพฯ เป็นส่วนหนึ่งในโครงการ GoGreen ในวงกว้างของบริษัทฯ โดยอีกตัวอย่างหนึ่งที่น่าสนใจคือ แนวทางปฏิบัติที่มีมายาวนานของดีเอชแอล โกลเบิล ฟอร์เวิร์ดดิ้ง ในการช่วยเหลือลูกค้าในการประเมินการปล่อยก๊าซคาร์บอนผ่านแพลตฟอร์มออนไลน์แบบครบวงจร MyDHLi ซึ่งมอบทางเลือกให้กับลูกค้าในการลดคาร์บอนแบบอินเซ็ต (Inset) และการชดเชยคาร์บอน (Offset) เพื่อช่วยลดการปล่อยคาร์บอนฟุตพริ้นท์ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกิจกรรมการขนส่งของลูกค้า
